Accountant I Role:
The Accountant I works closely with the Controller and is responsible for bank reconciliations, journal entries and account analysis. The Accountant I maintains financial security by following internal controls, complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements, maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential. This position also maintains account controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures, GL maintenance and handles special projects as needed. The Accountant I works under direct supervision to establish and maintain DDPG's business philosophy - delivering significant and sustained value. This position can serve as an entry point into a career path in accounting and financial services.

Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily.

Prepare account entries by compiling and analyzing account information

Document financial transactions by entering data and recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options

Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents

Handling bank account transitions

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education/
Experience:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and 1 - 5 years related experience. Ability to properly maintain records. Accounting background is preferred. Dental or Healthcare experience is a plus.

Language and Mathematical Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers and employees. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

Working knowledge of MS Office. Extensive knowledge of Excel and knowledge of Great Plains Accounting System is a plus.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
