Job Description and Qualifications
Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE: APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Project & Project Manager at our facility located in Palmetto, FL. This facility opened in 2013 & is located just south of Tampa Bay.
The facility manufactures primarily liquefied natural gas heat exchangers. Each heat exchanger consists of a single/several coil wound tube bundles housed with an aluminum or stainless steel pressure shell, all of which is assembled & welded by skilled employees at the plant. Heat exchangers may take up to 24 months to build, and typically, no two projects are exactly alike.

Position is responsible for directing all manufacturing plant activities relating to projects and project development. Additionally, the position is also responsible for coordinating plant activities w/corporate departments responsible for Project Development, Manufacturing Design, Project Execution & Business Area Management. Position will be the principal interface with resident customer representatives.
Promote the Port Manatee manufacturing facility to all business leaders within the company to generate work to compliment the base LNG manufacturing equipment workload.
Provide material, labor, staff & occasionally engineering cost estimates upon request for new products, product revisions, contracts, or request for quotes. Products typically consist of LNG Heat exchangers, cold boxes, piping systems, distillation columns plus a variety of pressure vessels typically associated with cryogenic plants.
Prepare manufacturing schedules & resource plans to support requests above.
Conduct cost studies for new & existing products.
Manage manufacturing project team working closely with corporate project groups to successfully execute manufacturing projects of all scopes & sizes.
Liaise with Customer Support Departments to provide manufacturing support for equipment construction & repair trips around the world.
Prepare monthly project cost forecasts and schedule performance reports.
Using existing project budgets develop aggressive production targets (manhours) for projects to be executed ? need to show continuous improvement
Develop charts for monitoring performance of tasks against targets developed in (A) above
Identify cost improvement opportunities on current & future activities.
Develop an overall schedule for all equipment manufacturing activities including design requirements, material requirements, etc. for each project also defining activities not being performed in the facility.
React to problems that arise with vendors, Engineering, the hourly workforce, etc. by developing formal schedule improvement plans as required.
Develop payment milestones (with a high probability of achievement on-schedule) when required by the customer during a bidding phase & report on payment points to Project/Business areas responsible.
Ensure compliance with ISO9001 QMS procedures and processes.
Coordinate development of a quality plan for each project with Business Areas, Project Engineering, & plant quality supervision.
Ensure documentation required by contract is being prepared in accordance with customer requirements.
Coordinate inspection & quality activities with various customers, Engineering, & Business Areas.
In the event of quality problems, develop & collect appropriate data identifying improvements,etc. Monitor resolutions of all Variation Notices & Correction Tags.
Systematic review of skills gaps and training/development needs of the project / project development teams is an important responsibility, including participation in HRP Process. Lead systematic planning & evaluation of personnel development and training, with focus on development of future leaders & succession planning.

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business
Experience in the metal fabrication industry involving project management, cost engineering or scheduling.
Good communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
Demonstrated experience in management of salaried work force and directly managing a multi-functional team. Skillful in Microsoft Office.
Preferred candidate will have:
Engineering degree or an MBA
Experience in SAP
Basic knowledge of pressure vessel manufacturing, project and cost engineering experience and familiarity with the working environment within a team engineering process plant projects and 10+ years managing a multi-skilled professional team within a large matrix management organization.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
