Vehicle Description 1966 Red Pontiac GTO Why This Car Is Special If you are looking for a really nice 1966 GTO (verified by the vin # 242176B143073), then look no further as we have a bright red one here at Skyway Classics.
These 1966's were the first generation of GTOs and had a very sleek body, aggressive ride and handling, and a hi-po 389 V8 engine and have become highly sought after today.
Mechanical Our GTO is upgrade from the original 389 cubic inch engine and is now powered by what appears to be a 1971 455 cubic inch V8 engine with a bevy of performance parts to make a whole lot more horsepower than the original that was rated at 335 horsepower.
It has been painted the correct Pontiac blue shade of paint, has a two four barrel Edelbrock performance carbs, polished aluminum Edelbrock intake, correct chrome vale covers and finned Edelbrock open-element air cleaner, factory cast iron exhaust manifolds with a dual exhaust system, power steering and power brakes, Heavy-Duty rear end, MSD electronics, performance hose, plumbing, and spark plug wires, and a manual transmission with a Hurst shifter.
The engine is sitting in a very clean and detailed engine compartment and the entire car runs and drives great.
The underside of the car is detailed as well as the rest of the car, and it rides on factory Rally Wheels and BF Goodrich Radial TA raised white letter performance tires completing the look.
Interior This sweet GTO has a like new black twin bucket seat interior with matching door panels and rear seat, wood-grain dash and all the correct factory gauges and accessory gauges below and on the console (including my favorite gaugethe rare Pontiac factory Intake Manifold gauge!), wood trimmed spoke steering wheel, and Pontiac stereo radio system.
A full stainless finned aluminum factory console resides between the bucket seats with a locking console, it has the factory seatbelts, and also black floor mats.
Exterior This 1966 Pontiac GTO has bright red paint adorning the sleek GTO body that looks nice in the sunlight as it shows the GTO hood scoop.
The glass appears to be free of any obvious issues as does the external trim and chrome and the front and rear bumper.
It is a striking GTO that will garner plenty of admiring glances as well as attention from the dual exhaust coming out the rear that have a throaty sound.
Conclusion This real 242 vin code 1966 Red GTO we have here at Skyway Classics is one tough looking GTO with that great color combination that makes it a must have if you are a collector or just want to cruise in an exceptional GTO! So give us a call at 941-254-6608.
