Vehicle Description 1960 Ford Courier Why This Vehicle is Special Ford Courier is a model nameplate used by Ford since the early 1950s and first used in North America for a passenger style wagon or a sedan delivery body style of the full-size Ford line sharing its body with the two-door Ford station wagon.
Marketed exclusively as a two-door vehicle, the Courier was initially designed with a side-hinged rear cargo access door (unique to the model line).
For 1957 and 1958, the Courier adopted the two-piece clamshell rear door of the Ford Parklane and Ford Del Rio station wagons.
We have an ultra-rare 2-door 1960 Ford Courier here at Skyway Classics that has V8 power, a custom red interior, with mag wheels and more.
Mechanical You could get anything from a mild straight-six cylinder engine to a 352 cubic inch V-8 as all were available in the 1960 Courier wagon line.
Now ours has a small block Ford V8 engine that has been modified and has an aluminum intake, performance carb, air conditioning, Edelbrock chrome valve covers, chrome open element air cleaner, H.
D cast iron exhaust manifolds, dual exhaust, power brakes and steering, aluminum radiator, modified electronics, and more.
It sits in a very clean, painted, detailed, and correct engine compartment and the engine is connected to an automatic transmission while riding on chrome 5-spoke mag wheels and black sidewall performance tires.
Interior The new red interior consists of a full-size split front bench seat, great red factory dash with its bright chrome and stainless trimmed factory gauge clusters and controls, auxiliary performance gauges, aftermarket tachometer, newer stereo radio, air conditioning, red seatbelts, red carpet, and black/red floor mats.
It has a red and polished three-spoke steering wheel on the chrome tilt column, red padded headliner and door panels, and the fully carpeted and fitted rear cargo area.
The rear compartment has roughly 97 cubic feet of luggage area with the luggage platform that was nearly 101/2 feet long with the tailgate down.
Exterior 1960 was a pivotal year as this Ford station wagon was fully redesigned and restyled.
Ours has had the restoration as we said earlier and is now covered in satin black finish on the stock body with the addition of the FX style hood.
All the chrome is shiny as well as great trim, chrome bumpers, glass, and body seams and panel fit.
Conclusion These big wagons were long deemed the least cool cars on the road back then because they were what most families used to tote the kids around in, but now the full-sized American station wagons are turning into today's hot collectibles.
Any enthusiasts looking to collect the fondly remembered automobiles from their youth are turning to stylish, useful classics like this ultra-rare 2-door 1960 Ford Courier we have here at Skyway Classics.
