Vehicle Description 1963 Chevrolet Corvair Car History The Chevrolet Corvair was a compact car manufactured by Chevrolet for model years 1960-1969 in two generations.
A response to the Volkswagen Beetle, it remains the only American-designed, mass-produced passenger car with a rear-mounted, air-cooled engine.
The name 'Corvair' originated as a portmanteau of Corvette and Bel Air, with the 'air' part referenced the engine's cooling system.
We have a great 1963 Chevrolet Corvair here at Skyway Classics with the freshly rebuilt 145cubic inch air cooled engine, white paint, chrome hubcaps, new exhaust, original radio, spare tire and jack, and a manual transmission for less than the price of a new car.

Chevrolet put in the Corvair something truly different.
The rear-mounted air-cooled flat-six motor is set up for a lower center of gravity, and some Porsche-style handling fun, has a large rev range, looks as it did back when it was new with the black factory air cleaner system, electric cooling fans, carb system and intake, and new exhaust.
It sits in a very neat, clean, painted and detailed engine compartment and looks like it did back then while riding on the steel wheels with chrome hubcaps with thin white sidewall tires.
Interior The interior on this Corvair consists of the black bucket seats and matching back seats and door panels, the factory dual cowl dash that borrows styling from the Corvette factory dash with all the gauges and instruments, stainless trim, black carpets, Corvair logo floor mats, factory black/chrome steering wheel, original radio, and chrome manual shifter with a white 4-speed shifter ball under the dash.
Exterior Corvairs always turn heads wherever they go and this one does too with its rust-free body painted in shiny white paint.
It has a nice mix of European and American styling to give it a nice sports car-like appearance as well as having nice chrome front and rear bumpers, Corvair badging, and exhaust tips.
Conclusion If you ever wanted a 1963 Chevrolet Corvair like the one we have here at Skyway Classics, then this Corvair is that perfect classic you can pick up without going broke.
