1949 was the first post-war production for the Mercury and featured a redesigned car that stood apart from its counterpart at Ford.
This example looks great in two-tone paint with wide white wall tires and suicide doors.
Under the hood is the factory flathead V8 which is paired with an AOD automatic transmission.
These cars are very cool left stock, or make great lead sleds! Cloth interior with bucket seats and a Lokar shifter make this Mercury a comfortable cruiser.
During the 2008 restoration the original flathead was given a power boost with an Offernhauser intake with a Holley 4-barrel carburetor providing the fuel.
A dual reservoir master cylinder has been added along with a new GM 2-wire alternator, Lokar emergency brake, electric fuel pump and more! New white wall tires were installed, the wipers were converted to electric, the original radio was converted to AM/FM, and the car received all new glass.
This car comes with great documentation for the restoration, which was performed by Kool Kustoms in Orland ME.
The car has been converted to a 12-volt system as well.
This vehicle is eligible for an Extended Service Contract through Classic Vehicle Protection.
